The Andrews Legacy
Welcome to the Andrews Legacy! Are you a student whose parent or grandparent attended Andrews University, and you’re looking to continue their legacy here at Andrews as well as put your own stamp on the world? Or are you the parent/grandparent who attended Andrews University years ago and are now excited to see your son/daughter/grandson/granddaughter carry on your legacy at Andrews?
We love seeing students come to Andrews University generation after generation in their families. We offer a variety of Legacy scholarships to recognize the loyalty of multi-generational Andrews families just like yours!
Current and incoming students may apply to be considered for three distinct scholarship opportunities: the Alumni Legacy Scholarship, the Alumni Senior Scholarship, and the Alumni Black Student Christian Forum Scholarship.
Alumni Supporting Future Alumni
The Andrews University Alumni Legacy Scholarships are made possible through the generous support of the Andrews alumni community and the Wesley Christiansen Alumni Endowed Scholarship Fund. Each fall, we host a Wes Christiansen Memorial Golf Tournament from which the profits go toward legacy scholarships. It is due to the alumni and supporters of Andrews that we are able to host a profitable tournament and continue adding to the scholarship fund. The Andrews Alumni Association awards more than $10,000 annually to 10 or more legacy students.
Our Legacy Scholarships
- Scholarships are non-renewable. Students may only be awarded the scholarship once.
- Scholarship applicants must meet the criteria outlined in each scholarship application below.
- There are a limited number of scholarships available, so we do consider each scholarship application carefully. We now require a video component to the applications – please note the directions which will be listed in the application.
- Applications are due by August 28, 2024. Scholarship recipients will be notified in early to mid-September 2024.
- 2024 Scholarship recipients are required to make a short appearance at the Wes Christiansen Memorial Golf Tournament in late September to thank the alumni who so generously support this scholarship endeavor. Recipients may contact the Office of Alumni Services to request an excuse letter for professors or to discuss exceptions. Transportation will be provided.

Legacy Scholarship Video Component
The legacy scholarship application requires a video component, which is an important part of the application process that we take seriously into consideration when reviewing applicants.
We’ve posted a few of our favorite video submissions over the past years below for inspiration. We encourage applicants to use creativity and to thoughtfully refer visually to their Andrews legacy history in their video application.
