Gymnics 50-Year Reunion
April 6-8, 2018 | Andrews University Campus
We welcome all Gymnics team members, past and current, to join us at the Gymnics’ 50-year reunion! Plan now to return to Andrews University’s campus April 6-8, 2018, to celebrate 50 years of Gymnics. Register for the weekend, browse through photos and stories of former and present gymnics members, and share your own pictures and reminisces. We look forward to seeing you in April 2018!
A retreat has been reserved for reunion events except for Home Show. Call directly to arrange for meals and/or accommodations. By sharing the time frame you were a Gymnic you may be placed in a house with teammates. There are kitchens in most of the accommodations making other meals possible to fix on your own. If there are at least 30 people who would like the camp to make non-scheduled meals, that is the threshold that makes it worth it for the camp to prepare meals. The meals will be vegetarian. Breakfasts will be $6 and Lunch will be $7 Supper $8 (if enough reserve). Prioritize scheduled meals. Please find the contact information below:

“I was a member at Andrews 1969-70: AV operator for mikes and music during the school year, then program MC during the 1970 campmeeting tour. A story that is fresh in my mind was our winter/spring 1970 Canada/New England tour. We did an evening performance in Machlan Auditorium at AUC. The stage was so small that some of the tie-down cables for the big swing were fastened to the empty front row theater type seats. My AV equipment was precariously positioned a couple rows behind the tie-down. When the big guys did the 360 on the big swing about half the seats in the front row raised up/down like a wave. I held my breath as I envisioned the front row ripping off the floor and flying through the air!”

“I came to Andrews specifically to join the gymnastic team. My senior year at BMA, the gymnics came to our school to do a weekend performance and put on our church service. One of the gymnics, Dan Ashley, sang for us a amazing piece by Wayne Watson, “Would I know you now”. This song had such an affect on me, it seemed to be sung by a young man who had truly discovered what was important in this life, and I was so impressed with the spiritual aspect of this team I was determined to join. The rest of the year I was determined to go to Andrews and become a gymnic. I’m sure everyone has tons of stories of their gymnic days. But I don’t know if all of us realize that each one had the potential to touch a life as significantly as mine was touched by that one gymnast with the amazing voice. I had never really considered Andrews, it was far from home and most of my friends were attending other universities. But I am so thankful that the course of my life was changed that weekend! Coach quickly paired me off with the man who was soon to become my husband, and this week Lyndon and I celebrate 24 years together since our first gymnic tour. Being a member of gymnics was two of the best years of my life. And obviously I attribute most of the rest of my amazingly wonderful years to the husband I met on the team. So thankful for having had this opportunity to perform, travel, make amazing friends, and become closer to Christ! All due to gymnics.”
